The Piercing Taboo:

When I was 12, I got the top of my ear pierced after begging my mom continuously to allow me to do it. I thought I was so edgy with that tiny sparkly on my upper ear. Little did I know that that small piercing would later turn into me wanting more, more and MORE! Here I am, 24 years old, and I just recently had my septum pierced. It was such a spur of the moment decision. I saw a picture on Pinterest of a girl with the piercing and thought “That’s cute, I want it!” The next day, I walked into a parlor and had it done.

I have several tattoos, and for some reason, I feel that people are more judgmental about my septum than anything else! Why? Is it because the septum is kind of in-your-face for everyone to see?

That being said, do you think we are ever going to enter an era where people don’t care what jewelry you may have on your face, or anywhere else in your body?
